Cheryl and Richard Andrews welcome you to the newly ‘re opened Glemham Crown Inn. This beautiful 18th century building has retained many of its period features and boasts no less than four fireplaces. There is a spacious restaurant area as well as a snug for more intimate dining. There is also a charming bar area perfect for sampling the local brews.
After a month of extreme hard work we have transformed the once dormant entrance hall into a comfy coffee lounge area where home made cakes and scones are available. We also spent a lot of time improving the garden which is secluded with plenty of seating for al fresco dining. Also in the grounds we have a one bedroom holiday cottage which will be available to rent as soon as the redecorating is completed. Richard the landlord and head chef has created an exciting new menu which includes lunch time snacks, old favourites such as sausage and mash or liver and bacon as well as a seasonal a la carte evening menu. All food is freshly cooked and locally sourced where possible.
As a free house we are able to provide many different beers, cask ale and cider for you to try. We use localized brewery s such as Adnams Southwold Earl soham Framlingham and Green jack, which is based in Lowestoft. Richard has been in kitchens from a young age working his way up to head chef position at the tender age of 21.
In that time he has worked in London Manchester, the French Alpes (where he met Cheryl) Cumbria and eventually Suffolk where we both worked together at the ever popular Middleton bell for over 4 years building up a good reputation for his food. Our hopes for the Crown is that it will become the hub of the community where customers (and dogs) will feel welcome, enjoy good food, well kept beer and a great atmosphere.
